THE story is set in 1930s Shanghai. Nip Chun (Miu), one of the most influential gang leaders in Shanghai for the past
20 years, decides to step down after the sudden death of his wife. Thereafter, he earns his living selling Shanghai steamed
buns. He meets Ho Shui Sau (Heung), whom he hires as his helper.
His withdrawal from the underworld disappointed his ardent follower Shek Sai Kau (Bosco Wong). Despite his determination
not to get involved in any criminal activities, he decides to make a comeback when he finds out that his buddy Wu Tai Tsuen
may be responsible for his wife’s death. Plus, his former gang members are being mysteriously killed.
Chun and Tsuen come to blows on several occasions. Later, Chun discovers that there is a conspiracy against him. To make
matters worse, he learns that his beloved daughter Man Wah (Yeung) isn’t his own flesh and blood.
