Andrew Lau, co-director of such Hong Kong box office hits as
Infernal Affairs and
Initial D, helms this
beautifully crafted romantic thriller from Korea starring Jeon Ji Hyun, the mega-popular star of
My Sassy Girl and
Windstruck. Jeon stars as Hye Young, an innocent sidewalk artist living abroad in Amsterdam, with big dreams of someday
headlining an exhibition in a real art gallery. In a romantic twist, she starts receiving a pot of daisies each day at 4:15
p.m. from a secret admirer. Oddly enough, the identity of the sender is none other than Park Yi (Jung Woo Sung, from
Sad
Movie and
Musa), a ruthless assassin who works for a Chinese crime syndicate. It seems that while completing a
mission, he found himself hiding in a house and began to notice a beautiful girl strolling by on a regular basis. The girl
was, of course, Hye Young, and Park Yi quickly becomes smitten by her. A bit shy in the romance department, the hitman keeps
his distance, sending his gift of flowers regularly, but anonymously.
As fate would have it, it isn't long before Hye Young crosses paths with Jeong Woo (Lee Seong Jae, from Holiday
and Public Enemy), a topnotch Interpol agent, and mistakenly assumes that he's been her secret admirer all along. Through
her innocent actions, Hye Young unknowingly tosses her two admirers into a deadly game of cat and mouse, which will not only
have consequences for the men involved, but just might reveal some long buried secrets in Hye Young's past as well. How will
this eternal love triangle be resolved? With a screenplay co-written by My Sassy Girl director Kwak Jae Yong and featuring
appearances by Cheon Ho Jin, David Chiang, Yu Soon Cheol and Dion Lam, Daisy is a complex, poignant story of pure love!
