Famous for producing and directing comedies, Wong Jing has made a sequel to his entertaining
Kung Fu Mahjong.
While
Kung Fu Mahjong's Yuen Qiu and Yuen Wah, first coupled in
Kung Fu Hustle, still show up in
Kung Fu
Mahjong 2, the film has at the center stage the gorgeous actress Cherrie Ying. She plays a seemingly ordinary housewife
Fanny, who is actually an apprentice of the mahjong master (Wong Tin Lam, from
Election). But she loses to a seductive
woman Curvy (Zuki Lee, from
Slim Til Dead), both on the mahjong table and in competing for her husband's love. With
help of other apprentices of the mahjong master (played by Yuen Qiu and Tiffany Lee), Fanny determines to strike back in the
international mahjong contest!
King Fu Mahjong 2 will offer plenty of hilarious scenarios, from parodies of Dae Jang Geum to imitations
of Korean heartthrob Rain and action star Tony Jaa. Of course scenes with Yuen Qiu beating up Yuen Wah, having amused so many
in Kung Fu Hustle, will continue to bring the audience more fun. If you are looking for a lighthearted action comedy
for some amusement, Kung Fu Mahjong 2 is probably what you need.
