From Min Kyu Dong, director of
Memento Mori, comes
All for Love, a winning romantic comedy that details
several different, but equally compelling kinds of love stories. Rather than present each of the six stories separately, the
director cleverly overlaps them, having every story occur during the same event-filled week. Promoted as a Korean version
of
Love Actually, this highly romantic film, also known by the alternative titles
The Most Beautiful Week of My
Life and
My Lovely Week has a story for just about everyone!
First off, there's the love-hate relationship between the macho Detective Nah (a hilarious Hwang Jeong Min, from You
Are My Sunshine) and a psychiatrist divorcee named Yu Jeong (the equally comic Uhm Jung Hwa, from Singles). Then
there's the relationship between Chang Hu (Im Chang Jeong from Cracked Eggs and Noodles) and Seon Ae (Seo Yeong Hi),
one that endures even in the face of abject poverty. There's also the middle-aged romance between theater owner Gwak (Ju Heon)
and the eternally vain Oh (Oh Mi Hi).
But not all love depicted in the film is romantic; All for Love also features a tale of a bachelor named Song Won
(Kim Soo Ro, from Libera Me) and his paternal love for a precocious little six year old (Kim Yu Jeong). In addition,
the film doesn't shy away from forbidden romances either: one, between nun-to-be Su Gyeong (Yoon Jin Seo, from Sympathy
for Lady Vengeance) and a singer Jeong Hun (Jeong Kyeong Ho, from TV's Sweet 18); the other, an illicit love between
a lonely divorced man (Cheon Ho Jin) and his male housekeeper (Kim Tae Hyeon). How will all these many loves fare? Find out
in All for Love, a multi-story romantic comedy, sure to please viewers looking for a little love...at the movies!
