Siao Yu [Rene Liu] is an illegal alien who works in a Manhattan sweatshop and is looking to attain citizenship. To achieve this, with the help of her boyfriend Jiang-Wei, she arranges a false marriage with Mario, a former journalist who is suffering through a bad luck streak. The two actually begin to honestly hit it off, though the jealousy of both Jiang-Wei and Mario’s wife presents problems for the accidental couple that will have to be addressed before they emotionally destroy the lives of all involved.
