Ki-Ju is a Vietnam veteran now publishing a novel in serial form about the war in a monthly magazine, leading an isolated life with his wife. One day he receives a phone call from a fellow ex-soldier, Jin-Su, and Ki-Ju is propelled back into his memory of his final mission alongside Jin-Su. When Jin-Su meets with Ki-Ju after more than ten years of separation, Jin-Su asks Ki-Ju to kill him, to finally heal the wounds from the war that never healed. But will Ki-Ju become the angel of mercy that Jin-Su so desperately needs, or will Jin-Su unknowingly open back up the memories long lost in his mind, forcing him back to a world he wishes he never knew.
