As a teenager, Tae-Woong was only concerned about himself and his friends, even as modern revolution took center stage in 1960's Korea. He is swallowed up in the political and gangster world that clash for control of the people and eventually finds himself working for the Myonggong Gang, who is financed by the Freedom Party.

As Tae-Woong gets older, he becomes wiser as well. When a coup d'etat of the government also sweeps through organized crime, Tae-Woong quits the underworld, and attempts to make it as a film producer. But when money gets tight, he has only one man to turn to: his old boss who now runs a phantom brokerage for U.S. and Korean construction companies.
