SYNOPSIS:

Motosuwa Hideki is a country ronin trying to get into college. He moves to Tokyo where he encounters Persocons. In Japan there are robots known as Persocons, walking computers in the shape of humans, which preform many mundane tasks. They seem to be incredibly expensive, and if a student saved up enough money, he might be able to buy a little one. One day as Hideki was coming home from work, he saw a body in a dumpster. Scared that it would be a dead body, he went over and found that it was a persocon. Well, Hideki takes it home but the data that was with the persocon fell out.

Once he got home, he tried to find the switch that would turn the cute little persocon on. After searching a bit, he finally found it and it started up. It was a girl-type persocon with long hair and cute little ears. She opened her eyes and her first word was ''chi''. It was the ONLY word she could say, and so, Hideki named her Chii. From there, the odd relationship between the two developes. But where did Chii come from? What is she?
